UTI Home Treatment - How Important is pH Balance in your Urinary Tract Infection Treatment
Another recommended UTI home treatment is to take in lots of vitamin C to increase the acidity in the bladder. However, this area tends to be confusing since there is also mention of low pH balance.
If the pH is more than 7.0, then we have a high pH, which tends to make us susceptible to urinary tract infection. The lactobacilli existing in our urinary system weakens and can be overwhelmed by the invading bad bacteria.

What is Better low pH or high pH balance? It is actually not a matter of having one higher than the other but a matter of maintaining balance between acid and alkaline. One example of alkaline deficiency is excessive hair loss. The ideal level of pH balance is at 7.0 hence, if in the examination of our body system, our pH measures lower than 7.0, then we are acidic and we need to increase our intake of alkaline rich foods.
In taking vitamin C as your UTI home remedy, check with your doctor what alkaline rich foods will best complement your body, while fighting against your urinary tract infection.
What will make the UTI Home treatment more effective, low pH or high pH balance? Vitamin C is said to create an acidic environment in the bladder, thus making it difficult for microorganisms like E coli to flourish and survive. In addition, a good bacteria which lives inside our body known as lactobacilli thrives in our bladder and urinary tract.
It exists in that area for the main purpose of fighting invasive bacteria that attacks our urinary system. In order to perform its function well, this lactobacilli strain has to live in an acidic environment in the bladder and urinary tract.
Another way of putting it is to base the body's content with the alkaline level. The more alkaline level, the higher the pH balance hence the latter will lower if there is less alkaline in the body. The measure 7.0 in pH is said to be a stand-off between between acid and alkaline which renders the body well balanced. Now that we think about it, homeopathic treatment urinary tract infection are not actually that difficult a topic to write about. Just looking at the word, ideas form in people's minds about the meaning and usage of homeopathic treatment urinary tract infection.

What is pH balance in relation to Vitamin C? According to medical experts, if a body takes in more than the required daily dosage of vitamin C , his body composition will naturally be rendered acidic. The pH balance will come into focus, because it is the proportion of the body's acid content in relation to alkaline content.
Accordingly, if a body is said to have more acid content and less alkaline, then the pH balance is low. Conversely, if there is less acid content in proportion to the alkaline, then there is a high pH balance. It was really tough getting information about anything previously. Now with the advent of the Internet, anyone can access any information at any time of the day.
It is suggested that we eat mostly alkaline based food then take on vitamin C supplements or vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin C. The quality of water should also be considered, since some water have been tested to be acidic.
A low pH balance will keep the good bacteria strong and active in combating the germs that invade our urinary organs. If an infection occurs, it means the lactobacilli is being overrun by the E coli and others. Taking in additional acids in the form of vitamin C will strengthen the good bacteria and weaken the bad bacteria.

Any home remedies/natural ways to prevent UTI?
Beautiful_Letdown asked on Sun, 22 Jun, 2008
I suffer from chronic UTI's almost monthly, and will all the meds im on to prevent them (ditropan XL, detrol LA, and Bactrim) along with drinking plenty of water, not drinking soda or teas and taking cranberry supplements. What are some other natural or home remedies to try to help me out? Also has anyone ever tried clear tract or tried d-mannose? Thanks!

Utis.
Sounds like you're doing it all right.
Cranbury juice..drinking it several times a day is known to help.
Also if you are sexually active...CLEANLINESS..
Both you and your partner..both before and after..
Lastly..when on toilet..always wipe front to back..Alot of docs agree that poor toilet habits..can cause frequency of UTi's...
Wear cotton underwear or any underwear that has cotton crotch area..
These all seem to assist..
Good luck,

ba zheng san, a chinese formula blend. 3 grams three times a day for avg size person. d-mannose is also worth a try. Evidentally the sugar does not easily absorb, passes through the body and binds to the bacteria on the bladder walls causing you to uriinate them out. What ever you choose drink a lot of water to flush and take probiotics in between

I have heard good reports about d-mannose. I know one medical doctor who has juvenile diabetes & it helps w/ protein in urine for him & has (he believes) extended his life.
Here are some herbs known to be urinary antiseptics: Angelica root, Bearberry (Uva Ursi), Celery seed, Goldenrod, Juniper, Meadowsweet (also soothing & pain relieving), Saw Palmetto, Yarrow. Try making any one of these into a tea and drinking one or more cups per day. I would lean toward Angelica root, which is a digestive, or Meadowsweet, which contains salycin (like aspirin). Saw Palmetto, Juniper & Bearberry are all somewhat harsh and only for short term use.
Years ago when I was taking birth control pills I also had frequent UTIs. Got some relief by a surgeon enlarging the opening of my bladder. The problem didn't completely stop until I stopped taking the pill.

The two natural antibiotics colloidal silver and garlic oil will both help for prevention if you take them every day.

Increase your vit C and take an herbal immune system booster like echinacea with goldenseal or astragalus when you feel a UTI coming on. Rest. Definitely keep up the cranberry intake.
Echinacea and astragalus cannot be taken for more than a week or else they become ineffective for your system.
